Valencia, 11 June 2026 – The Valencian Community takes a decisive step to strengthen its position in the defense sector.
It has launched the Valencian Alliance for Security and Defense, a public-private platform coordinating efforts between companies, universities, technology centers, and government institutions.
A Growing Sector
Interest in the defense and security industry is rising across Europe.
Rising budgets and the increasing importance of dual-use technologies—applicable to both civilian and military purposes—position the Valencian Community as a strategic player in this sector.
Public-Private Coordination
Leadership from the Generalitat will be key to guiding the alliance.
Business associations, universities, and technology centers provide their support.
Main objectives include attracting investments, training and retaining talent, and developing initiatives such as a Strategic Plan for the Defense Industry, analysis of business capabilities, and a future Auxiliary Defense Industry Fair.
Valencian Ecosystem of Hubs and Clusters
Already established private hubs and clusters gain strength through this alliance.
Examples include Apolo, the Defense Industry Cluster of the Valencian Community, the Defense Hub promoted by AVIA, Espai Aero CV, Clúster Digital CV, and Redit, the network of technology institutes.
These structures enable the region to leverage expertise in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, advanced manufacturing, advanced materials, photonics, and communications.
A Strategic Plan with a Long-Term Vision
The Generalitat recently commissioned the Strategic Plan for the Security and Defense Industrial Sectors 2027-2030, with a budget of €119,405.
This plan will define the roadmap for the sector and identify growth opportunities for Valencian companies.
It complements the Aerospace Strategy 2026-2030 and reflects 48% growth over the last decade.
Valencia, a Strategic Destination for International Companies
Consolidation of defense and advanced technology hubs reinforces Valencia as an attractive ecosystem for foreign companies.
Specialized talent, cutting-edge infrastructure, public-private collaboration, and strategic projects create a solid environment for international companies seeking innovation, security, and business opportunities in Europe.
