Valencia, April 16, 2026 – The Valencian Government has presented an ambitious strategic plan to consolidate and expand the aerospace sector in the region. Currently, the sector includes more than 90 companies and generates around 1,680 direct jobs. However, it faces key challenges that require coordinated action from businesses, institutions, and public administrations.

Retaining talent and strengthening infrastructure

One of the main objectives of the plan is to retain and attract highly qualified talent. The aerospace sector is experiencing a brain drain, so the regional government has introduced measures to ensure professionals can build their careers locally. To achieve this, it aims to offer competitive salaries and attractive working conditions.

In addition, there is a strong focus on strengthening infrastructure, which is essential for the sector’s expansion. Castellón Airport, already used for technological testing, is seen as a strategic hub. At the same time, new locations such as the Siete Aguas airfield are being considered. Furthermore, administrative simplification and the creation of a startup-friendly environment are also key elements of this modernization process.

Overcoming the “valley of death” and scaling companies

The strategic plan also addresses one of the most critical challenges for emerging companies: the so-called “valley of death.” Many aerospace firms have already validated their technologies, yet they lack the funding needed to scale at an industrial level. Therefore, the regional government is working to foster public-private collaboration, increase investment funds, and provide financial support so these companies can grow.

The future of the aerospace sector in Valencia

With a clear roadmap in place, the Valencian Community is positioning itself as a benchmark for the aerospace industry. It combines strong technical capabilities with a dynamic business ecosystem. Moreover, the sector is aligned with global technological trends and forms part of a broader economic strategy aimed at turning Valencia into a center of excellence in aerospace.
