One month to go: Valencia gets ready to welcome SailGP and take the global stage

Valencia, 6th August 2026 – On 5–6 September, La Marina will host the Spain Sail GP | Valencia, placing the city on SailGP’s global calendar and strengthening its international profile.

The competition will bring some of the world’s top sailing teams to Valencia aboard the F50s, high-tech catamarans capable of exceeding 100 km/h. A combination of sport, innovation and technology that aligns with the character of a city that continues to consolidate its international positioning.

Technology, innovation and international competition

SailGP is much more than a sporting competition. Its model combines advanced technology, engineering, data analysis, innovation and performance, turning each event into an international showcase both on and off the water.

The team will compete on home waters at one of its strongest points of the season, following two victories in Halifax and Portsmouth and another podium finish in Germany. These results have placed Los Gallos second in the overall standings.

Valencia, a stage for major international events

The arrival of SailGP represents a new opportunity to showcase Valencia’s ability to host global events and connect sport, technology, innovation and business.

La Marina and the Veles e Vents area will once again become a showcase for a city closely connected to the Mediterranean and home to a growing ecosystem in areas such as the blue economy, innovation and new technologies.
