Valencia, 15 January 2026- Valencia is entering a key moment in its economic development. The Vara de Quart industrial area, one of the last major productive zones in the city, is starting a new phase. This change is driven by more than €100 million in private investment. The goal is to turn the area into a major technological and logistics hub.
For years, Vara de Quart was at the center of urban and economic debate. The gradual closure or relocation of long-established industrial companies left many plots unused. Several redevelopment proposals were discussed but never carried out. That period of uncertainty is now ending.
The area is moving toward a new economic model. Innovation, digital infrastructure, and advanced services are now the main drivers of its growth.
A data center shaping the new direction
The most important project is a state-of-the-art data center by NxN Datacenters. It is backed by Valencia-based Nethits Telecom Group and international investment fund Adequita Capital. The project represents nearly €60 million in investment. It is being built on a former municipal site in a strategic location.
The facility will host advanced digital services across thousands of square meters. It is expected to start operations in 2027. The project will also create hundreds of direct and indirect jobs during construction and once operational. It will strengthen Valencia’s position as a key European technology hub.
Towards an innovation district
Beyond the data center, Vara de Quart is becoming a prime location for new investment. Technology, logistics, and high value-added services are showing growing interest.
The area is close to the city center and well connected to major transport routes. Available industrial land makes it even more attractive for development.
The Valencia City Council is preparing a strategic plan for the area. The aim is to guide its transformation and diversify its uses. Mayor María José Catalá has called Vara de Quart “an opportunity in every sense.” She highlights its potential to create jobs, attract investment, and boost the city’s competitiveness.
Economic impact and future outlook
The transformation of Vara de Quart is more than just renewing an industrial estate. Current and planned private projects now total over €100 million in investment.
With strong digital infrastructure, advanced logistics, and institutional support, Vara de Quart is becoming a key driver of Valencia’s economic future.
