Valenciaport expands its Border Control Post

Valencia, February 10, 2026 – The Port of Valencia continues to enhance its infrastructure with the expansion of the Border Control Post, an important step to respond to the growth of international freight traffic and the new demands of global trade.

The Port Authority of Valencia has formalized the contract to expand this facility, an action that will allow operations with more space, greater resources and smoother inspection processes. The investment exceeds €1.7 million and works are expected to begin in March, with an estimated execution period of 12 months.

More space for faster and more efficient inspections

The expansion will add 670 square meters to the existing building and incorporate four new loading bays, improving operational organization and reducing inspection times for goods. The objective is clear: to facilitate the movement of products and respond to a steadily increasing volume of operations.

With this intervention, the Border Control Post will reach nearly 4,170 square meters. A significant part of this space will be dedicated to larger and more functional inspection areas. Designed to handle large-scale cargo and special goods, such as high-volume plant products.

The new loading bays and inspection areas incorporate technical solutions that improve unloading maneuvers and allow the facilities to adapt to different types of transport and containers, bringing greater flexibility and efficiency to daily port operations.

An environment ready to operate at an international scale

The project also includes improvements to administrative areas, with new offices and a reorganization of access points that clearly separates inspection and management areas. In addition, one of the existing laboratories will be expanded, strengthening the technical capacity of the facility.

This expansion responds to a very tangible reality: more and more companies operate from Valencia and require infrastructure that supports their growth. For international companies, it means operating in a port that invests, adapts and facilitates logistics flows, reducing friction and providing greater security in control processes.

With this project, Valenciaport strengthens its role as one of the main gateways for goods in the Mediterranean. Offering companies an environment ready to compete in international markets from Valencia.
