Valencia, 27th August 2026 – Valencia will regain its direct air connection with New York in June 2027. United Airlines will operate three weekly flights between Valencia Airport and Newark, strengthening the city’s connectivity with one of the world’s leading economic and business centres.
The new route represents a significant step forward for Valencia’s international positioning. Will facilitate business relations between the city and the United States, a strategic market for investment attraction, innovation and new business opportunities.
A strategic connection for companies and investors
The direct connection will reduce travel times and facilitate mobility for companies, investors, professionals and business delegations between both markets. Newark is also one of United Airlines’ major hubs, providing onward connections from Valencia to an extensive network of destinations across the United States and North America.
The route will be operated with the Airbus A321XLR, a new-generation aircraft designed to operate long-haul routes more efficiently.
Greater connectivity for an increasingly international city
The new service comes fifteen years after the last direct connection between Valencia and New York, which operated from 2009 to 2012. For the first time, the city will also have two direct intercontinental connections with North America: New York and Montreal.
Improved international connectivity strengthens one of the key factors behind Valencia’s competitiveness and its ability to attract international projects: direct access to major global markets.
For US companies considering establishing operations in Europe, as well as international businesses already based in Valencia, the new route will provide easier access to one of the world’s largest business and financial markets.
The connection is the result of a strategy developed over recent years by Turisme Comunitat Valenciana, Visit València and Cámara Valencia to strengthen the city’s international connectivity.
