Opening of the new IBM headquarters in Valencia

IBM opens its new digital innovation and sales centre in La Marina de València, with a global talent Accelerator

Valencia, 5 June 2025 — On Tuesday, 3 June, IBM inaugurated its new digital innovation and sales centre at The Terminal Hub, in the heart of La Marina de Valencia, reinforcing the multinational technology company’s commitment to Spain and consolidating the city as a key hub in its European strategy. The new space, which will serve as an international platform for talent and technology development in the EMEA region (Europe, Middle East and Africa), will focus on areas such as artificial intelligence, hybrid cloud, automation, cybersecurity and sustainability.

According to the company, the choice of Valencia as the location for this new hub reflects the innovative potential of the local ecosystem, its ability to attract and retain talent, and the city’s growing international reputation as a technology hub. The location in The Terminal, a co-working space that already houses numerous start-ups and digital companies, is designed to foster collaboration, open innovation and the co-creation of technological solutions with a global impact.

During the opening ceremony, which was attended by institutional representatives, IBM executives and leaders from the academic and business worlds, the IBM Sales Accelerator programme was also presented. This initiative aims to train young professionals as future sales executives for the entire EMEA region. In its initial phase, the centre will have around 100 employees, although the forecast is to exceed 300 skilled jobs in the coming years.

Horacio Morell, President of IBM Spain, Portugal, Greece and Israel, emphasised the importance of this commitment: “The creation of this new centre in Valencia demonstrates our commitment to Spain as a centre of technological innovation in Europe. Valencia offers the environment, talent and creative energy needed to build the future of technology”.

The mayor of Valencia, María José Catalá, celebrated IBM’s choice of the city as a clear sign that Valencia “is an attractive place for investment, entrepreneurship and skilled employment”. She also highlighted the knock-on effect that this type of project can have on training, professional development and the creation of opportunities for young people in Valencia.

Beyond the direct impact on employment, the new centre will serve as a bridge between IBM and Valencia’s leading universities, facilitating synergies in training, internships and knowledge transfer. This collaboration with the academic and entrepreneurial community is part of a long-term vision that seeks to consolidate a robust and competitive digital ecosystem.

IBM’s presence in La Marina adds to the transformation process that this area of the city is undergoing, which in just a few years has gone from being an underused space to becoming one of the most vibrant environments for innovation, talent and new technologies.

Valencia, a city in the midst of an entrepreneurial boom, continues to consolidate its position as one of the most dynamic digital hubs in the Mediterranean.
