Beyond 8M: women leading technology in Valencia

“Generations in Tech: Women Driving the Evolution”, organized by Deutsche Telekom IT Spain

Valencia, March 10, 2026 – Just a few days ago we celebrated International Women’s Day (8M), a date that invites us to reflect on the role of women in society and to recognize their contribution in key areas such as innovation, technology and business leadership.

In this context, Valencia continues to host initiatives that highlight female talent in strategic sectors. One example was the event “Generations in Tech: Women Driving the Evolution”, organized by Deutsche Telekom IT Spain, in which Invest in Valencia took part.

The meeting brought together professionals from different generations and backgrounds within the technology sector to share experiences, challenges and perspectives on the future of the digital industry. The session featured Noemi Diéguez Casero (Siemens Mobility), Silvia Rueda (Universitat de València), Vitaliia Rubanenko (Accenture) and Shahin Din (Deutsche Telekom IT Spain). Who discussed how diverse perspectives contribute to driving innovation and building more resilient organizations.

The event included a panel discussion, an open debate among participants and a networking session that helped foster new connections within the local technology ecosystem.

Diversity as a driver of innovation and competitiveness

The importance of these types of initiatives is also reflected in the findings of the Grant Thornton Women in Business 2026 report. Which analyzes the evolution of female leadership in companies around the world.

The study highlights that 92.7% of mid-sized companies already have diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives in place, and more than 75% remain committed to gender equality, consolidating these policies as a key element for business competitiveness.

In addition, companies implementing new equality measures are achieving stronger results. 73% increased their revenues by more than 5%, 56.2% expanded their workforce and 48.8% increased their exports, demonstrating that diversity also translates into economic growth.

Globally, women currently hold 32.9% of senior management positions. A figure that reflects significant progress over recent decades, although there is still work to be done to reach full parity.

A technology ecosystem committed to talent

Events such as Generations in Tech help reinforce Valencia’s positioning as an open, diverse and talent-driven technology hub.

At Invest in Valencia, we continue to support initiatives that highlight female leadership and encourage knowledge exchange within the city’s innovation ecosystem, convinced that diversity is a key factor in building more competitive companies and a more dynamic business environment.
