Valencia, 15 September 2026 – Valencia-based company iPronics has closed a $125 million funding round — €108 million — with the participation of leading international investors and Nvidia joining as a strategic investor.

A deal connecting Valencia with international technology investment

iPronics, a company specialising in photonic infrastructure for artificial intelligence and headquartered in Valencia, has closed a $125 million (€108 million) Series B round, co-led by Maverick Silicon and Light Street Capital.

Nvidia has joined the round as a strategic investor, alongside new investors and institutions that had previously supported the company’s growth, including Criteria Venture Tech, Triatomic Capital, Bosch Ventures, Catalight Capital, European Innovation Council Fund, Fine Structure Ventures and Amadeus Capital Partners.

With this latest round, iPronics has raised a total of $177 million — €153 million —, consolidating its growth within a strategic sector for the development of next-generation artificial intelligence infrastructure.

Founded in 2019 as a spin-off of the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV), the company continues to maintain its headquarters in Valencia while expanding its international presence with the opening of an office in Santa Clara, California. It currently employs around one hundred professionals and plans to double its workforce over the next year.

A signal of Valencia’s growing international profile

Deals of this scale have an impact that goes beyond the growth of a single company. The involvement of specialised investors and major international technology corporations in companies founded and developed in Valencia helps increase the visibility of the ecosystem among funds, companies and potential investors worldwide.

The growth of iPronics also reinforces Valencia’s positioning in strategic fields such as artificial intelligence, photonics and semiconductors, where the ability to generate knowledge, attract talent and connect research with the market is increasingly important.

Its university origins also demonstrate the capacity of Valencia’s ecosystem to transform advanced research into internationally competitive business projects, connecting academia, entrepreneurship, investment and major technology markets.

The combination of a headquarters in Valencia and a new presence in Silicon Valley also reflects the ability of Valencia-based companies to grow from the city while building direct connections with some of the world’s leading hubs for technology, investment and innovation.

A catalyst for new investment

From the perspective of foreign investment attraction, cases such as iPronics help strengthen Valencia’s value proposition as an increasingly recognisable destination for international business and technology projects.

The presence of companies capable of attracting international capital, developing high-value technology and collaborating with global players creates a catalytic effect across the ecosystem, increasing its appeal to new companies, investors and specialised professionals.

These types of operations reinforce the perception of Valencia as an environment where technology companies can start, grow, raise funding and access international markets, while benefiting from talent, specialised knowledge and connections to a consolidated business and scientific ecosystem.

For Invest in Valencia, this development helps strengthen the city’s international profile as a destination for projects linked to advanced technology sectors and supports its positioning within the European innovation and investment landscape.

The growth of companies such as iPronics therefore becomes an asset for the international promotion of Valencia and a demonstration of the region’s ability to generate opportunities, attract capital and connect with the world’s leading technology hubs.
