Valencia, 26 March 2026 – The technological institutes integrated in REDIT have secured €690 million in funding from national and European programmes over the past five years, consolidating the Valencian Community as a benchmark in industrial innovation and technology transfer in Europe.
This volume of investment, channelled through R&D&I projects, reflects the capacity of the Valencian ecosystem to compete in international calls and attract strategic resources that boost business competitiveness and regional economic development.
A model of innovation that drives companies forward
One of the most relevant aspects of this funding is its direct impact on the business fabric. Approximately 80% of the mobilised resources —more than €550 million— have been allocated directly to companies, mostly SMEs, participating in innovation projects led by technological institutes.
This model enables companies to access highly competitive funding and technically complex projects, facilitating their growth, international positioning and capacity to innovate in global markets.
Sustained growth and economic return
The evolution of the funding obtained shows a clearly upward trend. While €98.4 million were mobilised in 2020, the figure reached €161 million in 2024, representing a 63% increase.
Moreover, this joint effort between technological institutes and public administration has generated a return of over 250%. Translating into investment, qualified job creation and a greater contribution to regional GDP.
Valencia, a strategic hub for innovation and talent
The active participation of Valencian technological institutes in European programmes such as Horizon Europe, LIFE or Interreg reinforces Valencia’s international positioning as an innovation hub. Between 2021 and 2024, they participated in 125 European projects, consolidating their role as partners and coordinators in international consortia.
This ecosystem, based on public-private collaboration, not only drives local innovation. It also acts as a lever to attract foreign investment, talent and high value-added technological projects.
An ecosystem ready to grow globally
The ability to mobilise funding, transfer knowledge and generate a direct impact on companies positions Valencia as an ideal environment for the development of industrial and technological projects at an international scale.
The dynamism of the Valencian innovation ecosystem, together with its network of technological institutes, strengthens the region’s competitiveness and opens new opportunities for companies seeking to grow, innovate and expand in Europe.
