Valencia, October 21, 2025 – More than 400 experts from the technological and industrial sectors gathered at the Oceanogràfic of Valencia for the 5th REDIT Summit, a key event organized by the Network of Technological Institutes of the Valencian Region (REDIT) and funded by the Valencian Institute of Competitiveness and Innovation (IVACE+i).
The event reaffirmed the strategic role of technological institutes as essential assets for business competitiveness and the attraction of innovation-driven investment.
Accessible innovation to strengthen the industrial fabric
The President of REDIT, Fernando Saludes, highlighted that the eleven Valencian technological institutes collaborated over the past year with more than 14,500 national and international companies. Generating an estimated €775.5 million impact on regional GDP.
Saludes emphasized that “innovation must be accessible to all SMEs, because strong companies build prosperous regions that attract new investment.” He also stressed the need for stable public policies in R&D&I to ensure continuity and competitiveness against major European and Asian innovation hubs.
For her part, the Regional Minister for Innovation, Industry, Trade and Tourism, Marián Cano, noted that “competitiveness is no longer measured solely by productive efficiency. But by the ability to adapt to a rapidly changing global environment.” Cano underlined the importance of public–private collaboration, And a shared strategy between science, business and public administration to strengthen a sustainable and intelligent industrial model.
Valencia, a benchmark in knowledge and emerging technologies
The conference program featured high-level presentations addressing global technological challenges and opportunities for sustainable reindustrialization.
Speakers included José María Pardo de Santayana, Vice President of the Royal University Institute of European Studies. Who discussed competitiveness from a geopolitical perspective; Javier Ventura-Traveset, from the European Space Agency (ESA). He presented the latest advances in lunar exploration; and María Marced, microelectronics expert. Who highlighted the opportunities offered by the European Chips Act 2.0. Positioning Valencia as a key location in the semiconductor industry.
Several Valencian companies such as Simetría Grupo, PhotonicSENS, Sanifruit, Rapife, and V2C also shared practical examples of collaboration with technological institutes, demonstrating how knowledge transfer and applied innovation are transforming the regional industrial ecosystem.
