IBM lands in Valencia with a new Digital Sales centre

The multinational technology company IBM has announced the opening of a new Digital Sales centre in Valencia in partnership with Invest in Valencia, thus consolidating its commitment to Spain as a strategic hub for innovation and technological development in the EMEA region (Europe, Middle East and Africa).

An international centre in La Marina de Valencia

The centre, located in The Terminal Hub in La Marina de Valencia, will be the only one of its kind in Europe and one of nine that IBM has worldwide. From these facilities, IBM will drive the digitalisation of companies in multiple sectors, offering advanced solutions in artificial intelligence, automation, security and hybrid cloud. In addition, the centre will serve as a platform for attracting and developing international talent, with a special focus on technological and multilingual profiles.

IBM has already begun recruiting staff for this project, with more than a dozen job offers posted for profiles such as sales development representatives, digital technicians and data and artificial intelligence specialists. The centre is expected to initially accommodate around 100 professionals, although this figure could increase as the project evolves and demand grows, eventually covering more than 250 itinerant employees.

Public-private partnership and commitment to the local ecosystem

The choice of Valencia was based on a detailed analysis of various European cities, highlighting its expanding technological ecosystem, the quality of its universities and its international connectivity. The project has received support from Valencia City Council, Invest in Valencia and the Chamber of Commerce, as well as collaboration from the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV) and the University of Valencia (UV).

According to Iris Dzeba, vice president of Digital Sales at IBM in EMEA, ‘this centre not only reinforces our Digital Sales strategy in the region, but also becomes a key driver for business growth. Over the coming months, we will be bringing in highly qualified emerging talent with the aim of consolidating Valencia as a benchmark in Digital Sales’.

Horacio Morell, president of IBM in Spain, Portugal, Greece and Israel, emphasised that ‘Spain is a hub of innovation in Europe, and our presence in Valencia reinforces our commitment to talent and technology. The new centre will foster collaboration with local universities, companies and organisations, contributing to the growth of Valencia’s technological ecosystem.’

The arrival of IBM in Valencia reinforces the city’s trend as a preferred destination for large technology firms. In the last decade, companies such as Siemens, HP, Hitachi and Lufthansa Technik have chosen Valencia to expand their operations in Europe, attracted by its climate, connectivity and quality of life.

The opening of IBM’s Digital Sales centre is another step forward in consolidating Valencia as one of the main hubs of technological innovation in southern Europe.
